January 5th, 2014
- 2014 is here! The Bassett family is so ready for a new year, a new beginning, and lots of memories to be made!
- Todd and I left for Sarah and Gary's wedding early on New Year's Day. The wedding was in Orlando which meant fun, sun, and warmer weather than Utah. Because of the flight costs we did not take the kids with us but it was so nice to have a vacation with just the two of us.
- Todd and I on the flight to Orlando (can you tell we're excited?!) Jen at the airport waiting to get picked up...in a t-shirt!

- My parents, Dane, and Gary got to Orlando before us so they went to the Capital One Bowl Game on New Years Day that just happened to be in Orlando and the Wisconsin Badgers just happened to be playing in it. Todd and I were sad our flight came in too late to attend the game. The bad news was my parents got in a car accident after the game. Luckily no one was hurt but it did cause some hullabaloo for them since they had to get a rental car and figure things out with their insurance company. That night, after checking into the hotel and saying our hellos we met up with Gary and went out to dinner.
- On Thursday we went to Epcot at Disney World. I hadn't been there since I was seven years old and Todd had never been there before. We loved it! We could have spent another day or two there easily. It was so fun to walk around the countries and we enjoyed trying all the different foods. It was warm that day but it did rain on and off. It was nice not having to worry about the kiddos in the rain.

- Here we are in Norway, eating some treats.
- Todd and I in China. Each country in Epcot has a nice sit down place to eat so this is where we my parents chose to eat dinner later that night. We took them out to celebrate their wedding anniversary the next day.
- Here we are in Germany. Man, we are a cute couple:)
- What more can you want than lederhosen Mickey Mouse ears??
- Mmmm...real German brats. We seriously had to try something to eat in every country...everything was so good. I could have lived in the Werthers caramel store in Germany!!
- Keepin' it classy, huh Dad?
- Hanging in America. Can you tell how much we love each other?
- A little bit of phone booth action in Great Britain. We also watched the funniest street show in GB. It was a good time.
- The Neptune Fountain in Italy. Not as great at really being in Italy but definitely fun.
- I couldn't believe how much bigger Disney World is than Disneyland. It is massive! You can definitely spend a week here easily...maybe someday....
- On Friday we headed over to the Magic Kingdom. The weather had dropped a lot overnight so it was much cooler and none of us brought real jackets so we had to double up our sweatshirts. Coming to Disney World was Dane's dream his whole life (and definitely a sore spot of his childhood) so we were all excited for him to get the real Disney experience. Todd and I were really surprised he wanted to leave early with my parents that day because "he was cold and gets grumpy when he's cold"...really? LAME! It was super busy that day (surprise! it was Christmas vacation) and I was definitely glad I wasn't pushing a stroller around. We had a lot of fun and it was great spending time with my parents!
- Look at that cute couple! Happy Anniversary!
- The castle was really cool all lit up for Christmas. Much bigger than the Disneyland castle.
- On the Jungle Cruise. I remember we had a pretty crazy tour guide..
- Todd eating the famous turkey leg. We had never bought one before at Disneyland so this was a first. Look how big that leg is!
- Disney World was super fun with Todd and my family but I will say I missed seeing the excitement of my kids. That really brings a lot of magic into the visit. Todd and I spent a few hours alone in the Magic Kingdom after my parents and Dane left and then we headed over to where Sarah and Gary were having a "meet and greet" night before their wedding festivities began the next day. It was great seeing the bride since she had just flown in that day!
- On Saturday the the bride and groom split up hosted some activities. The guys went suped up go-karting and the girls had a cabana day at the pool. Sarah and Gary stayed/married at the Waldorf Astoria so when I say 'day at the pool' I mean a luxury 'day at the pool'! That's what I call style! The girls had a great day and it was great getting to know the other wedding guests.
- The boys go-karting and the award podium.
- The Mosley ladies in their pool gear but up in the Sari's room for some girl time. Ya, I have no idea why my sweatshirt was tied at the neck.
- Saturday night was the rehearsal dinner at the Copper River Grill. They hosted quite the dinner. It was fun and delicious and Todd and I enjoyed talking with the other wedding guests.
- Sunday was Wedding Day! Gerren, Mom, and I headed over early to Sarah's room at the Waldorf.
- The bride getting ready!
- The weather was beautiful on Sunday and the temperature was close to 80 degrees. A perfect day for an outdoor ceremony. Sarah was gorgeous and the wedding was perfect, so classy and elegant. We are so happy for her and Gary! Yay! A new brother-in-law! I can tell he loves and cares for her so much. She's so happy being with him!
- It was fun being a bridesmaid with Gerren. Seriously, LOVE my sisters. I'm so grateful they are a part of my life and have become my best friends. Maybe someday we'll live close together...although I don't think the husbands could handle our intense coolness all the time:)
- The amazing cake (with cute topper), the first dance and other fun reception pictures.
- Look at the cute teenager! Love my nephew Koty and of course Kailei too.
- Monday we headed home and back to reality. We were excited to see our kids and had missed them so much. A big thank you to Todd' parents for watching them while we were gone. Of course our kids had the best time with Grandma and Grandpa Bassett and played and played and played some more.
