Family Time!

The past week and a half have been so great because I've had family come visit me in Utah! My younger brother Dane came out to attend BYU football camp and then spent a long weekend with us. My sister Sarah came out from Manhattan for work but it just happened to be the same week Dane was here so we all got to spend time together. It's a big moment when three Mosley kids are together and it's even bigger when the reunion is in Utah! I love my family so much and it was great to spend some quality time together. Here are a few of the things we did.

Saturday we took the jet skis out on Utah Lake. It was Dane's first time so he was a little nervous but after Todd took him out and showed him all the tricks I think he got to really like it!

Addy was cute in her little wetsuit. She like the jet skis as long as Mom was driving (Dad was too wild) and she didn't get splashed too bad!
Saturday night we went to the Lehi Rodeo. It was Dane's first Rodeo and he was pleasantly surprised that it was so entertaining! Yes ladies...he's a good lookin' kid!

After taking the girls swimming we went out to dinner with Sarah at the Harley Store in Orem. Yummy food and good company!

Dane got a monster blister at football camp! I had to pop it! GROSS! It seriously doubled the size of his pinky toe!

We love it when Aunt Sari comes to visit...but it's even better when she brings pretty shoes. (Addy soon told Sarah she needed yellow shoes to match her Snow White dress!)

Happy Birthday Brynn!

I can't believe our little Brynnlee turned one today! She is a little bundle of personality. She makes us laugh and has the sweetest disposition. We are so blessed to have her as part of our family. We can't wait to see what the next year brings. She's our little Bumper!

The Ice Cream Truck!

The last few days I've heard the sweet sounds of children's songs in the air outside. Yes! You've got it! The ice cream man has been driving around our neighborhood! Complete with the creepy man! (Seriously Creepy!) The funny part is, every time I've seen the truck I want to run and get something. Ah, nostalgia!

I plan on taking Addy to buy something one day but I know once she realizes the treasure the truck holds she'll want something every time we hear "Do Your Ears Hang Low."

Father's Day!

Father's Day was great. I felt bad because my family was in town so Todd didn't necessarily get all the attention :( We'll give him another special day in a couple of weeks! Todd is a wonderful father. The girls adore him and wait each day for him to come home from work. We sure are a bunch of lucky girls to have such a great guy take care of us!

We had Father's Day dinner at Bryan and Suzie's home. It was a delicious dinner and we all had a wonderful time. Family really is what it's all about!

This is the tie Addy made in nursery for Daddy.

Strawberry Days!

Last night we went to the Strawberry Days Rodeo in Pleasant Grove. What a blast! We left Brynn at home and just took Addy. We met up with Todd's brother Trent and his family so Addy had a great time playing with her cousin Jane. I love the rodeo more and more each year...and who can resist those Strawberries and Cream? Yummy!

Addy looked pretty cute in her hat and boots! Maybe we have a little cowgirl after all!

Uh Oh!

What do you get when you give Addy her own scissors?

Some of Brynn's hair!
She is no longer allowed to use scissors without VERY close supervision!

Bread Making

I taught two bread making classes yesterday to anyone in my ward who was interested in learning a really great recipe. My morning class was for ladies who needed to bring their kids. I only had three ladies come but that made ten kids so it was pretty busy. That evening I taught another class that was just for the ladies and nine showed up so I labeled it a success!

My sister-in-law Kate offered me the use of her brand new Bosch. I was nervous to accept because I've never used one and I didn't want to break it but now...I'M IN LOVE! They are amazing! It has definitely gone on my WANT list. Isn't she beautiful?!?
Our neighbor keeps up his yard very well. This places a lot of pressure on us :) We have rose bushes and after Todd pruned them we just left them alone. I was so excited to see them start blooming. I thought I have the magic touch by doing nothing! But then, I saw our neighbor's roses. I have a lot to learn.
Ours

Neighbor's (no, it's not your eyes, the picture is fuzzy. I didn't want to be caught taking a picture cause that would be weird, so I was trying to hurry) But look at all those roses!
We went over to Wheeler Farms today. Fun times. Addy really got into feeding the ducks. Seed was going everywhere! Could this little girl be any cuter?

Busy Week

This past week was VERY busy for me. Usually a big week for me is having a doctor appointment and going grocery shopping, but this week was much different. I feel the need to give a play by play so here is goes. Oh, can you tell I was busy because when my 11 month old Brynn grabbed and ate Addy's sucker, instead of taking it away, I let her eat it AND I thought it was cute!
Monday: My new calling is enrichment leader. Monday morning I had to meet with the committee to put together some things for our enrichment the next evening. It's always fun trying to do things like this with kids around(insert sarcasm). I ran lots of errands that afternoon and that evening I learned I love our neighborhood even more! We had our annual street BBQ on Monday and it was fun getting to know the families on our street a little better. So many great people.
Tuesday: Tuesday was all about enrichment from morning to night planning and baking and preparing. I think it went really well :)
Wednesday: An impromptu play date with Addy's cousins. (Addy was in heaven).
Thursday: I had to put together running packets for the 5K I volunteered for on Saturday. Then we had an exciting lunch at Del Taco (Addy's request because it has a fun playground). We invited Grandma along which always makes things better. That evening we went shopping at Walmart as a family. We rarely go to Walmart with Todd along so it always seems like a big deal when we do! Then we rented Madagascar 2 from the Redbox and we let Addy stay up until 11pm so she could finish it. We are REALLY nice parents! Oh, and I cleaned while Addy watched the movie. The life she leads!
Friday: I was scheduled for my morning in my babysitting co-op but no one showed up so I just cleaned some more. We had a picnic in the park at noon that day so I could meet all the ladies in my co-op because some are from other parts of the neighborhood and I haven't met them all yet. That evening we attended a Silent Service Auction put on by the youth in our ward. We won two nights of babysitting! YAY! They had lots of games and activities for the kids. Addy became obsessed with the Face Painting booth. I seriously think she went back 12 times. Her face, hands and arms were covered by the time we got home. Amy and Milo stopped by that evening and we had a fun time just hanging out and talking. Saturday: I woke up at 5am to volunteer for our local 5K. It was nice to give get involved with our community and since I had run quite a few races I felt it was time to give back a little so others can enjoy a race! Saturday night we just we went out and about. Fun family time.

Sunday: We had Todd's brother Dustin and his family over for Sunday dinner. Our new favorite thing to grill is Kabobs. I found this great marinade online and so it has quickly become a favorite. We really enjoyed spending time with the other Bassetts. Family truly is the greatest thing.

Brynn has become the cutest thing! She even took her first steps Monday at the BBQ! I can't believe she is getting so big. She loves to give kisses and has started to adore her daddy. She crawls to the door as fast as she can whenever he comes home. Here is a little video of her dancing! She just melts our hearts!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

Yesterday, our family was able to attend the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. What a wonderful experience! The Temple is beautiful and it was great to be there with the most important people in my life. I love knowing we are an eternal family and I am grateful for the blessings that are given to our family each day.

Between the two family pictures we all look normal!

Dance Class

For months and months now we have been telling Addy that when she is three years old she can go to dance class! She turns three in August, so last week we went to the dance studio to register her for a 3 yr. old ballet and tap class in the fall. On the way, I explained to her that she would NOT be dancing today but she can watch all the girls practicing in the studio. She was in awe. It got even more exciting when she saw pictures of her cousin Josie and her dance groups on the wall! When it was time to leave Addy started crying. "I want to dance!" "Please Mom, I want to go dance!" It was so cute and sad, all at the same time. Fall seems very far away right now.

Well, two days later I got a phone call from my sister-in-law Suzie. Josie's last dance recital of the year was the next day! It was perfect timing because Addy had been so sad.

Josie is so talented! We LOVED watching her perform. Addy sat through the entire recital and enjoyed every minute of it. I took a picture of Addy and Josie (who was in the cutest costume EVER) but I forgot to save it on my phone and when I got home it was gone :(
We are really looking forward to Addy starting dance!

Last night...the girls and I went with Grandma and Grandpa Bassett to a family night for the Pony Express Days in Eagle Mountain.

Not quite Disneyland but Addy thought meeting Mickey and Minnie was great.
She actually got kind of shy. I think that explains the weird smile!
Addy was having a great time watching the performance.

The Dress

When our family was sealed, I bought Addy a white dress to wear. I love this dress! I think it is so pretty! Last week was beautiful outside so I decided to take the girls up to the Salt Lake Temple and take some pictures of Brynn in the same dress. I love seeing how different they look.

This is Adalyn in April, 2007. She was almost 8 months old.

This is Brynnlee in May, 2009. She is 11 months old.
Here are some other fun pictures from the other day.
