February 23rd, 2014

  • Lots of good times this week. Addy had her 2nd Grade program on Thursday night. We got there early and had front row seats so we got to soak in every minute. The kids did great and it as fun to watch. I'm so glad they had their program in February since May gets so busy being the end of the school year and all.
  • This picture shows Addy's friends and neighbors: Hailey, Dawson, Addy, and Ollie

  • Friday night was our ward progressive dinner. We had salad at the Rowleys; dinner at the Madsens; and dessert at the Jorgensens. Todd and I really enjoy the progressive dinner since we get to know other ward members that we may not know as well and spend time with some that we do know well. Lets just say we laughed a lot that night.
  • Saturday was a girl day. We had a big Girl Scout event that day and I was finishing up details and I had to go to the dollar store. This is what Brynn picked out. It seriously made us all laugh so hard.

  • After a quick lunch at Subway we picked up the other Girl Scouts in our troop and headed to the World Thinking Day event.  (Don't judge me since I haven't even put their patches on their uniform yet:) Our Girl Scout troop worked so hard on their booth for World Thinking Day! They chose the country Mexico and make taco swaps (which they won the swap award for!), offered Mexican cookies and chips and salsa, and let others make pinatas as for a craft. They also loved walking around and learning about all the different countries at other booths. It was a really fun day!
  • While the girls were busy at Girl Scouts, Todd took Bodee to the Harley Davidson Store. How cute is this little guy?
  • Todd had Bodee show a serious biker face. Ha!

  • This picture of Brynn represents all the crazy and funny picture and videos I find of her on my phone and iPad. She takes so many selfies it's not even funny and she never deletes them. She is a goof!

  • Boden hates jeans as of late. He only wants to wear 'comfy pants'. I found a pair of CuddleDud long johns on clearance for him to wear skiing and stuff. Ya, he LOVES them. He wears them so much (as in everyday clothes) I went back and bought a second pair. We call him the Black Ninja when he wears them. His little bum sure looks cute in them though.
  • Since Bodee is the Black Ninja he's even better at wrestling Dad. My favorite is when he does the 'ankle pick' on Todd. He is at such a fun age!

  • Sometimes when the kids are being stinkers Todd makes them do wall-sits. No pain or gain, right? It starts with laughter and soon turns into whining. It's good for them:)
  • Addy finished up Lehi rec basketball. Her coach awarded her the 'Tough Cookie Award' since there were only two girls on the team but she fought the boys hard. We had multiple people tell us how good she was after various games. She loves basketball and is sad the season is over. The XSI Factory is also closing its doors at the end of February so she has no where to train anymore. She is pretty bummed!
  • On Sunday my mom called me to tell me dad is back in the hospital with complications and is not doing well. This means they won't be able to watch our kids when we go on vacation this next week. I'm so sad for my dad and I'm so sad they won't be coming out to visit!

February 16th, 2014

  • Addy's orthodontist has a pretty sweet game room inside his office but the best part is the games are free! Bodee loves to go to Addy's monthly ortho visit and in fact has become really good at this snowmobile game. I was pretty impressed watching him play.
  • Valentine's Day started off super but quickly turned sour upon finding out my dad suffered a stroke at work that day. So scary and I hate that fact I'm too far away to run over and be there for my dad and mom. As of the 16th he was still in the hospital but was doing better. Sarah and Gary were awesome enough to drive down and be with our parents.
  • Todd got all the girls flowers for Valentines Day. Thursday night Todd had drove to his brother's to help him move and took Bodee with him. I dropped Bodee off at Todd's work and Bodee kept saying "It's my lucky day" because he was getting to hang out at Dad's work. On the way home from helping Todd's brother they stopped and bought flowers. Todd said they talked the entire way home about keeping it a surprise until the next day. Bodee ran in the door and happily told me how they had just bought me flowers. Gotta love a three year old! The flowers were beautiful!

  • I got to volunteer for the Valentines Party for Brynn's class. I was in charge of a game. I love spending time in the classroom with my girls.
  • Usually we have a fancy dinner at home for Valentines Day but because it was Friday and we ended up taking the kids out. We went to Hibachi house and then to Kneaders for dessert.
  • Todd is obsessed with growing a beard. He loves it. Me...not so much:) I'm constantly trying to convince him he doesn't need it. He keeps telling me it's gnarly.

  • Another ski day on Saturday. This time Todd decided we would take Bodee up the lift for the first time. Remember when I said he didn't know how to snowplow?  I skied with the girls, which was such a blast for me. I couldn't believe how well they were doing! Todd went with Bodee. He had to place him between his skis which meant he was bending over in half holding him the ENTIRE way down the run. Talk about a lot of work! I think he needs to learn how to snowplow before he skis down a run again. The things we do for our kids...at least we're making great memories.

  • Todd's beard defense is that it keeps him warm on the mountain:)

  • Just some random pictures of the week:
  • Addy wrote a song. The lyrics are cute so I needed to keep this memory for her.
  • Did you know we have a Spiderman living in our house everyday?
  • They really do love each other. Sibling love!
  • I decided to put Brynn in another session of swimming lessons. This time I had Bodee and Addy do a session as well since we'd be sitting at the pool anyway. These were Bodee's first swim lessons and he was super cute. He was very independent and listened most of the time.

  • Need I say more?
  • On Friday the Lego Movie came out so we dropped Brynn off at Kindergarten and Bodee and I headed for the movie theater. It was a cute date and Bodee really liked the movie.

February 2nd, 2014

  • Cute Bodee doing some serious building with his blocks. He's getting pretty imaginative when there's not an electronic in front of him:)

  • Brynn's class celebrated the 100th day of school! She decided to have me hot glue 100 Tootsie Rolls to her shirt. The shirt was pretty heavy to wear!

  • The school celebrated Chinese New Year this week and put on an assembly. I only took videos, not pictures of Addy singing a Chinese song with her class but it was really cute. They also had the high school Chinese club come do the traditional dragon dance. It was so cool and very entertaining. I'm so glad she gets to be part of such a great program and school.
  • This is the picture I texted Todd this week. Some days it just makes me happy. #imaybeaddicated
  • Instead of holding the traditional Bassett Christmas Party this year Suzie and Bryan (who were in charge) chose to have the family go tubing in January up at Soldier Hollow. It was a blast! All our kiddos loved it. They had five different runs and you could go down solo or in a big group. This will definitely become a tradition.

  • Saturday morning Addy and I went to her good friend Hailey's baptism. It was good for her to support her friend and it's getting her excited for her own baptism. I can't believe she's going to be eight this year!
  • After the baptism Todd took the girls skiing with some of the aunts/uncles/cousins. I chose to stay home with Bodee so Todd took the girls. They spent the day first at Snowbird and then moved over to Alta. Todd said Addy did super and is really getting the hang of it. She is learning how to move back and forth. Brynn can get down the mountain but is still learning how move on the skis better. I know Todd has been waiting for this time when he can really teach them to ski and is loving every minute of it. We love that our kids are so adventurous and willing to learn.

  • This is what happens after a full day of skiing!

January 26th, 2014

  • Super duper quiet week. Same old stuff. Basketball, PTA, swim lessons, storytime, ya know how it goes.
  • Friday night Grandma had the little boy cousins over for a sleepover. Bodee was beyond ecstatic! Here is with his cousin Dallin.

  • Saturday Todd took Brynn into town to go pick up Bodee from Grandmas but hours later Bodee still hadn't been picked up in instead Brynn had been dropped off and was now hanging out with Grandma and the cousins. Funny how that happens. Todd ended up spending some of the day with his Dad and brother Trent. I'm pretty sure they ate at China Light. I can't believe that place has not closed down yet. The Bassett men really love that place.
  • Before I realized the kids were still with Grandma I had took Addy to lunch at Kneaders. We had been cleaning the house all day and needed a break! The pictures below show Addy eating a cookie. She is just like me!:)

  • After lunch Addy and I headed into town to pick up her brother and sister. By this point they were with Grandma at their cousin Sammie's basketball game. We stayed and watched some of the game. She's a good player!
  • Saturday we offered to watch the Tongi boys. We got pizza and played over at Kangaroo Zoo. These dudes are good kids and all the kids play so well together. Fun times!

January 19th, 2014

  • Grandma and Grandpa Bassett gave our family Pass of All Passes for Christmas this year. These passes include unlimited fun at Trafalga Fun Center. The kids begged me to take them on early out Monday. It wasn't busy at all so it work out well. They rock climbed, frog hopped, and we even played laser tag with a whole bunch of missionaries on their p-day. The kids thought that was very cool.

  • Bodee participating in story time this week at the library.

  • Friday night Addy was invited to her friend Hailey's birthday party at the ice skating rink. Since she was gone for the night we decided to have specials with Brynn and Bodee. Todd took Brynn to the indoor golfing range and then out for nachos.

  • I took Bodee to Chuck E. Cheese for some token love with the games for his special. I sure spending time with this little man.
  • Girl Scout Cookie Time! I have two Girl Scouts this year. Addy is a Brownie and Brynn is a Daisy. It really is so fun being their troop leader.
  • Addy and Bodee at Grandma's for 3rd Sunday dinner. Since there was no school the next day all the girl cousins got to spend the night at Grandma's house. Addy and Brynn were so excited to spend the night with their cousins. On the other hand, Bodee had a MAJOR meltdown when he learned it was only girls. He was so sad! Grandma promised they boys could come another night. We finally had to carry him out to the car sobbing. Thank goodness he finally calmed down on the way home.
