July 27th, 2014

  • On Monday Marci and I took our Girl Scout Troop on their last activity. We decided not to be troop leaders next year:( We had saved money over the past three years in case our troop ever needed anything so we had a bit of money to spend before we closed out our troop. We took the girls to Build A Bear Workshop and to lunch for our last activity. They had a blast and it was cute to see them all so excited.

  • Bodee came with us to our activity and since he had never been to Build A Bear before I let him get a bear too. He was so excited about it and picked out a Spiderman Bear but Star Wars pjs. Cute, cute, cute! He LOVES his bear!
  • We were invited to the Bingham Birthday Bash at Orem pool this week. It was  a fun party and the kids loved it when Bryan, Suzie and family showed up to play too.
  • I took Addy into the doctor this week because I've been worried she is anemic for awhile now. Turns out she isn't so that was good to hear. Here are the kiddos goofing off while waiting for the doctor.
  • Pioneer day was this week and Lehi was hosting their annual foam party. I took the kiddos over to play and it was CRAZY! I even lost Bodee for a bit! They thought the foam was pretty cool though.

  • Addy's Surf team had their first tournament this weekend. Soccer is definitely a lot more competitive at this level but they did okay. They have only been playing together for about a month so it is exciting to see how they do as time goes on.

  • They sprayed their hair blue and got a mean face on:)

  • This was a sad week for the Bassett family. We got rid of Old Red! We were planning on keeping the Tahoe for the 4-Wheel drive in the winter but our driveway is small and they started towing cars parked at the church across the street so we thought it would be smarter to get rid of it. We've had it since before Bodee was even thought of but I definitely love my Honda van so it is worth the sad goodbye!

  • This week the kiddos wanted to sleep outside on the trampoline. I was so sure they wouldn't last more than an hour but of course they actually fell asleep. I went out to sleep with them since we don't have a fence I feel like I couldn't leave them out there by themselves. Finally around 2am I convinced them all to come in because I couldn't fall asleep.
  • This week Addy and I went on a special to pick out her baptism dress. She found her dress pretty quickly at Dressed in White so we headed to lunch at (her choice) Brick Oven:) I love having more grown up conversations with her as she gets older. She makes me giggle all the time. I can't believe she is almost eight years old and getting baptized. I'm so proud of her.

  • I took the kids to go watch Planes 2 this week. I've been pretty tired lately so I was just fine with going to watch a movie in a cool theater. Bodee loved it of course.

  • On Saturday night we took the kids to the Real game. The games are always fun they had a good time cheering with the crowd.

  • Bodee with his new hair cut this week. Such a stud muffin.

July 13, 2014

  • After months of preparation this week was finally GIRLS CAMP!! We left early Monday morning and returned Friday afternoon. I had the best time! We had about 60 girls from our ward attend so it was a lot of chaos but lots of fun. We have the most amazing girls in our ward and I am so very impressed at the spiritual maturity of so many of the girls I have gotten to know. They are a great example to me. I feel like Girls Camp was a success for the most part. I had lots of girls come up to me at the end and tell me it was the best year they have ever attended. (I think the late night dance parties helped:) I am so grateful I was given this calling this year. It was definitely worth all the hard work and countless hours of prep work.
  • I didn't take a single picture (since my phone didn't really work) except for this rainbow. I need to get some of the pictures the "ward photographer" took!

  • While I was away to Girls Camp, Addy and Brynn went with their friend Emma to Girl Scout Camp at Trefoil Ranch from Monday-Wednesday. Addy had a super great time and was pretty comfortable since she attended by herself last year. Brynn turned out to be much more hesitant once she got there and it took Todd a while to leave her. She did fine once Todd left but she says she's not going back again:) I guess she's not quite ready to leave home!
  • Bodee was lucky and got to spend some time with Grandma Bassett while I was gone. Thank goodness for fun Grandma Bassett!
  • Friday afternoon Todd's boss Dave invited all the employees and their families over for a swim party with a free shave ice stand! That meant as soon as I got home we headed over to party. The kids loved it and Bodee wouldn't stop jumping on the diving board like a trampoline. It was pretty funny watching him.

  • Our neighborhood apparently has a great deal of Canadians living in it because on July 1st they had a Canada Day parade. They got the high school band, fire trucks and lots and lots of homemade Canadian floats. It was pretty fun to watch! Who woulda known?
  • Amy and Milo invited Addy and Brynn to Jr. Golf Camp this week. They have been taking weekly lessons with Amy but a whole week is even better! The last day of camp Todd went into work late so we could watch the girls and we ran into Sherri and Jared playing a round of golf.

  • Just a couple shots of my sweet Bodee Boy. Love the one of him stuck up in the tree!

  • Friday was the 4th of July so we met up with the rest of the Bassetts at Deer Creek because Chris and Cathy's neighbors, Joe and Kali invited us all onto their boat for the day. We all really enjoyed ourselves and kids all had a blast with their cousins! The best was when Todd got on the tube with Hogan, Taylor, and Josie...he loved flipping those teens into the water!!! So funny!

  • That night we had tickets to Stadium of Fire with Carrie Underwood performing! It was a great night and only Bodee got a little too tired by midnight:) I love the patriotism Stadium of Fire brings out in all of us. It's was a great way to celebrate the 4th of July!

  • This was definitely the week of Brynn! It was her birthday week!
  • On Wednesday, we took the kids and Brynn invited her and Addy's friend, Emma to Cowabunga Bay to party. The girls loved it, especially since they all know how to swim, I let them run pretty free. I rented a cabana so I was pretty much able to hang out and order food while the kiddos played. Seriously, my kind of day:) Todd even came over for a few hours and played too. Brynn had a pretty terrific day!

  • Thursday was the Lehi Rodeo! I actually wasn't feeling too good so Todd took the kids himself. He got Bodee a cowboy hat so the kids were ready to go! It turned out to be pretty rainy but who can complain about a rodeo?!

  • Saturday was Brynn's 6th Birthday! We love this girl more every year! She is funny, goofy, tough, sweet, caring, and the biggest snuggler! She tells great stories and keeps her brother and sister up at night telling Grandma and Grandpa Fat stories that also include the character Baby Hush Poop. We can't imagine our lives or our family without her.
  • She woke up early and opened her presents. Her big present was a digital camera. She was super excited to receive it!

  • After opening presents we all went out to IHop for breakfast. Is she beautiful or what??

  • Birthday sundae! (The real reason they like to go to IHop for their birthdays)

  • Mommy and Brynn selfies!

  • After IHop we headed over to meet up with the Ross Family at the Lehi Parade. The kiddos got some candy and partied with the other kids.
  • Next, we headed over to the mall so Brynn could get her ears pierced. Only a few tears and then she was good to go. I can't believe she is getting so grown up!

  • Next stop after the mall was a drive up to Snowbird to ride the alpine slide and take the tram up the mountain. It was a beautiful day. As the kids get older I realize it only gets better spending time with them. They really are pleasant and fun company.

  • Later that night we came back to the house for Birthday Cake. Brynn picked out a golf cake (cute, huh?!) and Amy and Milo came over to celebrate.

  • Sweet sibling love at church! Besties!
