- The last weekend in July we headed up north for the Stubb's Family Reunion (Cathy's side) at East Canyon State Park. Chris and Cathy brought their camping trailer up so we stayed with them for the night. It was a beautiful drive and since I had never been to that part of Utah it was fun to explore a bit. The reunion had rented water toys but it was not exactly hot out so the kids didn't last long.
- Bodee potty-trained in July (so proud of him since he wasn't even three years old yet!, It was easier than I expected and it is so nice not to buy diapers for the first time in seven years) and so he was able to pick out a prize. He chose a Spiderman fishing pole. Early in the morning Todd took him down to the lake so he could use his pole for the first time. Such a cutie!
- After a late night playing with cousins in the camper and not wanting to go to bed this is what an exhausted Bodee looked like on the way home.
- In the beginning of August I took the kids and Dane up to Salt Lake for an outing. Dane had been so busy with school he hadn't gotten out too much so I showed him where our mom and dad use to live and LDS hospital and such. (He was really excited...cough, cough). After his forced tour we stopped at City Creek mall. The kids loved playing in the water fountains.
- A little Cheesecake Factory to go! Seriously, the Bassett girls love good cheesecake:)
- Shocker! Dane was on his phone!
- I signed up the girls for a two day Chinese program (mostly for immersion kids) at UVU. Here's Brynn holding her group's sign. They really had a good time.
- Kids with the Tongi kids at the Children's Museum. It was fun to see Bodee play with such an imagination.
- They had a hurricane wind simulator there. It was so funny to watch the kids get 'blown away'. They couldn't stop screaming.
- The girls were invited to Arista's birthday party. (They are Chris and Cathy's neighbors. Addy and Arista were born only a couple of weeks apart.) It was a skateboarding party with a real instructor and everything. I missed pictures with the skateboards but they did bring their scooters as well. Apparentely, Brynn really took to skateboarding. Arista's mom told me how great she did...a bit of a natural:)
- We weren't doing big birthday parties this year so I told the girls they could have a 'End of Summer Late Night Party!' This way they could have a party without all the hullabaloo! They had a blast. Pizza, ice cream sundaes, minute to win it game, hide and go seek in the dark, movies, games, etc...They invited Emma, Hailey, Reagan, Sage, Alexis
- Kids were fascinated with snails this summer...yuck!
- The day before Addy's birthday we took a family trip to Lagoon. It was so much fun! We all have a great time and made some fun memories! It was a hot and sweaty day:)
- Todd was a little sneaky and took Brynn on the ride Wicked even though she wasn't tall enough. I was a bit freaked out but she LOVED it! (of course). The girls wanted to go again so this time I took them on. I kept thinking Brynn was going to slip out of the seat belt but she made it though safely. It really is a great ride!
- Bodee loved the dragon ride and loved it even more when he got to ride with Uncle Dane.
- It was pretty hot so Todd took the girls to the water park so Dane and I took Bodee on a few more of the little dude rides. Bodee really liked the Pirate Ship.
- On August 16th, Addy turned 7!! I can't believe what a beautiful, sweet girl she has become. She brings so much joy to my life and to our family! For her birthday she went golfing and swimming but we had to be back by 5pm so we could attend "Back to School Night" at school. After that she requested Pizza Hut for dinner and cupcakes. Grandma, Grandpa, and Amy all came over for her special day.
- Addy at her annual birthday morning breakfast at IHOP with her Dad!
- At "Back to School Night" Principal Beckstrand picked Addy out of the audience and brought her on stage to play a game with him. He didn't even know it was her birthday but it sure made her feel special:)
- Kiddos at the golf course
- One day in August Todd decided to take the kids on a bike ride...TO LEHI! This means they would have to ride for about a half mile in BUSY Redwood Rd with the total ride to his parent's house being over seven miles. I told him he was crazy but he insisted the girls would do just fine...and they did! They made it just fine. They stopped at gas stations for water breaks but they were super troopers. Luckily Grandpa Bassett drove them back home. What a fun super dad!
- We held our annual "Night Before School". Yummy dinner, fashion show, and Father's Blessings. Success!
- This just makes me laugh...I can't believe they can even sleep like this:)
- Next on the list was Bodee's 3rd Birthday on August 26th. This little man is CUTE! He is funny, goofy, loveable, and loud. I honestly can't get enough of him. If I could just keep him 3 years old forever and put him in my pocket, I would! He opened presents, went to lunch and Kangaroo Zoo (while Addy was in school), and to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner. He invited his buddy Emerson.
- Just in case you were wondering, yes this blue frosting had so much dye in it it made their poops blue for several days! Haha!
- Never too old! Where a kid can be a kid!
- Da Boys! and me and my little man!
- Always a super hero at our house!
- After waiting patiently for a whole week after Addy started, Brynn finally got to begin kindergarten. Her teacher is Mrs. Cowley. She was READY!
- Last but not least was Dane's Birthday on August 30th. 19 years old! We hit up Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then headed to the Real Salt Lake game. Dane even got on the saddle at Texas Roadhouse. The Real game was way more fun than I thought it would be and Dane said it was great birthday so I call that a success!
