- On Monday morning Dane left for his first day of college at BYU! Can't believe he's this old! Once he got home that night he said his instructors were pretty good. I guess that means this summer semester will be a success.
- After Dane left for school and Todd left for work Grandpa took the rest of us out to IHOP. Only my kid's favorite breakfast spot.
- On Tuesday we took Grandma and Grandpa back to the airport to head home where they will be empty nesters for the first time in 38 years! That's some serious parenting. Once Grandpa left the house got much quieter and Addy didn't have Grandpa to bug anymore so she went back to bugging her siblings. The week of nonstop laughing, tickling, screaming and running around came to a halt. We miss them!
- Right when we got home from the airport Bodee looked around the house and said "Grandma and Grandpa gone. It's fine. We'll see them soon." I told him it would be a long time until we saw them again. He said "Oh. Sad." Then I told him Dane is still hear and he yelled "Yea! Dane!". Dane already holds a special place in his heart:)
- Brynn really wanted a golf lesson from Amy for her birthday so on Wednesday she got her first lesson. She did great! She was very focused and intense but connected with the ball over and over again. She's hooked! Whatever Brynn sets her mind to she goes 100% with it.
- Wednesday evening we were given free tickets to the Lehi Round Up Days BBQ. It was a pretty good dinner with some fun bounce houses. It's fun taking part in the local city celebrations.
- Can you tell we have a little boy obsessed with super heroes? It's all he can talk about! Now even our library trips revolve around super heroes. Such a boy!
- While I was at work on Thursday I had our babysitter come and look how they decorated the door for Todd and I. How cute is this? I loved coming home to all this fun artwork. Then they yelled "surprise" when I walked in the door.
- Fun rides with the cousins on Thursday night!
- Friday was Brynn's Birthday! I can' t believe she's 5 years old! I just love and adore my sweet Brynnlee. She is funny, and determined, and lovable, and so concerned about others. She adds so much joy to our family.
- First thing after she woke up was to open presents! Brynn wanted walkie talkies, a new baby doll, and a basketball hoop that hangs over her bedroom door. She got it all:) Then Todd took her IHOP on a daddy/daughter special.
- After breakfast Brynn asked to go golfing so Todd took the girls out to Talons Cove. It was pretty much one of the best days of Todd's life...taking both girls out golfing. He said the ladies playing behind them told him how adorable it was our girls loved golfing:)
- After golfing we headed over the the outdoor pool for a fun day of swimming!
- Todd's Uncle Craig passed away on Monday so the viewing was Friday evening. We all went down to the viewing and afterwards had Brynn's birthday dinner at Johnny Rockets.
- The servers asked if Brynn wanted Happy Birthday sung regularly or backwards. She picked backwards and so they all turned around:)
- All the kiddos busting a move!
- Me and my sweet 5 year old Brynners!
- Saturday was Craig's funeral. It was a sweet tribute to a man that touched many lives. Todd with his brothers/cousins as pallbearers.
- Todd was asked to give the dedicatory prayer at the graveside. Todd really loved and admired his Uncle Craig so it was definitely an honor to be asked to give the prayer.
- Cathy with her siblings. Joey, Sherry, Terri, Cathy, Mike. Her brothers Stephen, Danny, and now Craig have all passed on.
- Dane was so sweet to watch Bodee during the funeral so afterwards we went to pizza and shave ice. Wahoo!
- While we went out for pizza and shave ice, Todd took the girls to see their cousins who were up from St. George. Funny enough on the way they stopped at a much cooler and better shave ice place. Looks like it comes straight from Hawaii!
- Since Grandma was here we had a really fun week.
- On Monday we went swimming at the outdoor pool, had lunch at Kneaders and then in the evening took the kids to Jump on It, the trampoline park. The kiddos were pretty tired by the end of the day:)
- On Tuesday, we went up to the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum. We hadn't been there for years so the kids loved it. Bodee really liked grocery shopping and taking all the food from the store over to the playhouse.
- Brynn played with in the house with the dolls almost the whole time. Such a mommy!
- Addy is finally old enough to enjoy the science section of the museum upstairs. I could see her brain thinking about all the different projects and what was going to happen.
- On the way home we stopped at Bruges Waffles for the first time. Let's just say Belgium Waffles stuffed with Belgium chocolate=yummy! Good thing I don't live in Salt Lake anymore.
- Uncle Dane and Grandpa drove in on Wednesday afternoon. Finally! We were all so happy to see them.
- Thursday we drove down to Orem/Provo to run some errands and of course Grandpa had to take the kiddos to Chuck E. Cheese. Pretty much their favorite place:) Even Uncle Dane won them a few hundred tickets.
- Friday we went up to Scheels and rode the Ferris Wheel!
- After our trip to Scheels we stopped by the movie theater and watch Monster's University. The kids thought the movie was very funny!
- Todd came home a bit early from work so Mom, Dad, Todd and I all went over to the Mount Timpanogos Temple to do some temple work. Always nice to be in the temple with my parents:) Since Dane watched the kids while we were gone we thought it would be fitting to take him out for some ribs...well actually we got taken out for some ribs...thanks Dad! We all love Sonny Bryan's and Addy is all about the ribs.
- Saturday night was rodeo night! Yee-haw! Always some great entertainment and the strawberries and cream are so good! Glad my mom and dad could enjoy their first rodeo with us.
- Todd got a text early Sunday that his Uncle Craig who has been so sick with throat cancer had another stroke and had fallen. Todd rushed over there and was able to spend a few hours with him and his family as well as was able to be part of the circle that ordained Craig as an elder in the church on Sunday morning.
- Since the Mosleys have arrive we have played lots of games. Grandma played Old Maid with the girls and once Grandpa and Dane arrive the adults have been playing Settlers of Catan and have even tried playing Euchre for the first time in years. On Sunday Addy got us all to play Monopoly with her. Hours later...she won! She's got some Mosley blood in her, that's for sure. (I'm also learning that Dane is just as sneaky as Dad!)
- Summer is in full swing at the Bassett house. Brynn has been asking to make 'dirt cups' for a treat so on Monday night we made them for our Family Home Evening treat. The kids loved them but when they thought it was pretty funny to suck up the worm...it got kinda gross!
- On both Wednesday and Thursday I was the mom that attend Girl Scout Day Camp with our troop. The girls loved the whole week at camp and made lots of crafts and played lots of games and met some new Girl Scout friends. I really have fun with our little troop!
- Ashlyn, Emma, Addy, and Mailee. Clara could only come on Saturday and Reagan was out of town.
- On Friday the kid's cousin Drew came over to hang out. Brynn and he went up to the park for a big primary party and then once Addy came home from camp they played all over the neighborhood. Drew is such a good kid we were happy to have him around.
- On Friday night Todd and I went on a hot date to the Tim McGraw concert. We had a really good time and laughed all night long. Between the game "she shouldn't be wearing that', having the drunk lady next to us passing out in her nachos, and crazy Brantley Gilbert as the opening act we had lots of entertainment besides Tim singing! Good times!
- Since we were going to be home so late Amy came and took over for the babysitter around 8pm. Of course cool Aunt Amy made an awesome fort the kids just couldn't get enough of that they had to sleep in it two nights. Sweet little dudes. They are all such buddies (most of the time).
- Saturday was spent getting the house ready for the arrival of my parents and Dane!
- Sunday was Father's Day! We made both Dad and Grandpa Bassett little baskets with this inside. The kids also made Dad lots of pictures. We did the "All About Dad" again. My favorites were Brynn guessed her dad is 91 years old. While Addy surprised me by knowing that her dad's job was internet marketing and when I asked her what her dad's favorite food are she responded. "Chinese, ribs, and shrimp. I just thought of all the food I like and then I know dad likes it too." She's funny:)
- We drove up to the airport after church and picked up Grandma on Sunday afternoon! Yay! She's here! We've been waiting forever for her to finally visit us!
- 3rd Sunday dinner/Father's Day celebration was the entertainment on Sunday night. Brynn is the only grandchild with a June birthday so she gets to blow out the candles all by herself! She loves, loves, loves planning all her birthday stuff!
